SEATTLE (AP) - A trial is scheduled to start in January for 1 of the two people accused of killing six members of a family on Christmas Eve 2007 in Carnation.
A King County Superior Court judge scheduled the trial for Joseph McEnroe at a hearing last week. A date for the separate trial of co-defendant Michele Anderson has not been set. The two could face the death penalty if convicted.
The Seattle Times reports (http://is.gd/XoPDrI) Judge Jeffrey Ramsdell is expected to be asked to reconsider his ruling that McEnroe be tried first.
Investigators say McEnroe and Anderson killed her parents, her brother and his wife and that couple's two children in a crime motivated by family strife, money and the intention not to leave witnesses.
