How Human Resources Wants You to Do It
If you're going to complain about a boss, you need to have a good reason. For better or worse, you can't just complain about your boss because she or he is rude. The human resources people I talked to while researching this post mentioned the word legitimacy a lot?as in, your boss needs to be doing something harmful to you as a person or the company, not just being a jerk.
The main legitimate reasons cited are:
- Discrimination
- Illegal activity (whistle blowing)
- Overtime or break violations
Incompetence, you'll notice isn't on the list, and unfortunately, there is no real good way to complain about the inability to properly do a job. You can, however, offer constructive criticism directly to your boss or someone higher up.
In those instances, it's very important to complain with a solution in mind, which, as we've covered in a similar manner before, is also a good way to get on your bosses good side.
If your boss is being hostile for no good reason, you might also consider talking with someone higher up about the issue. This is especially handy in a retail space, where you're probably not getting paid enough to deal with a bad boss, and the owner might not be on the floor enough to see what's happening. Don't complain immediately after an incident, and make sure its a repeated issue. Again, word it in a way where you have a solution, not just a complaint, and if it's at all possible, document your complaint.
The HR people I spoke to also suggested getting your core job outline in writing, so you can refer to it if your boss is asking you to do something outside the spectrum of your usual tasks. Use this with caution, though: You don't want to be seen as lazy, but if your boss regularly abuses your good nature and willingness to help out, it's good to make sure you and your boss is aware of your required duties.
More than anything else, you should talk with your boss first if you're comfortable doing so, especially if your problem is something as simple as not getting a break or proper lunch time. If your complaint involves serious issues like discrimination or illegal activity, you should have proof.
So how do you document those sorts of issues? Here are a few techie options.

How Technology Can Help You
You need to have proof about your complaint, especially if you're insinuating foul deeds are going on. This isn't as hard as you'd think. You can track these types of things easily, ensuring you'll have any facts you need. When possible, you should not hide your actions, especially when recording conversations, but you still want to be able to click the record button quickly.

Otherwise, turn on the recorder when something is happening and bring that to your HR department or other boss.
If your boss is doing something nasty that doesn't fit into the above mentioned issues, you can always talk with someone about the issues without complaining. Mention them without hinging the whole complaint on your boss and you won't put your job in jeopardy, but you might make your work experience a little smoother.

Celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred, in an appearance on Piers Morgan's CNN show tonight, said that Herman Cain has claimed five different women are lying about him - including her client Sharon Bialek - and said it goes to issues of "character."
Via POLITICO's Juana Summers, Allred said:
"If these allegations by Ms. White are true then it certainly goes to the issue of the character and the honesty of Herman Cain. I have to ask, how many more skeletons are there in his closet and what happens if more come out? When is Herman Cain going to come clean with the American public? He's now accused a total of five women of being liars and Ms. White is just the latest that he's accused of lying. I think that the American people are going to be able to make a judgement if they have not already done so."
She also said that Ginger White's past financial problems have no bearing on her credibility: "There are millions of women in this country and millions of men as well having financial problems. The fact that she's had them in the past doesn't bear on whether or not she's credible on this issue. As I understand it, she was concerned that people were getting in touch with her, finding out. She also didn't like Herman Cain's attacks on the women that had come forward and she decided it was time to come forward, tell the truth, as she knows it and she's lived it."

Euro rises against dollar on European debt hopes (AP)
NEW YORK ? The euro rose against the dollar on hopes that a new plan to stop Europe's debt crisis from spreading is in the works.
There were reports Monday that the International Money Fund is putting together a rescue package for Italy. Investors are hoping that European leaders will finally agree on a solution to contain the region's debt crisis.
The euro rose to $1.3306 in late trading from $1.3230 late Friday. The euro fell to a 7 1/2-week low against the dollar Friday after Italian borrowing rates soared, a sign that investors were worried the country may not be able to pay its debts.
In the U.S., the National Retail Federation said Sunday that 226 million shoppers visited stores and websites during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, up from 212 million last year. They also spent more.
Traders felt more comfortable buying the euro and other high-yielding risky currencies since they view the increase in spending as a sign that the U.S. might avoid another recession.
In other trading, the British pound rose to $1.5496 from $1.5433. The dollar fell to 0.9234 Swiss franc from 0.9318 and to 1.0366 Canadian dollar from 1.0503 Canadian dollar.
The dollar rose to 77.99 Japanese yen from 77.76 Japanese yen.

Iran builds 3 more submarines for navy
TEHRAN, Iran?? Iranian state TV says the country has added three more domestically-built submarines to its naval fleet.
The Sunday report said the vessels were delivered to the Iranian navy in southern port of Bandar Abbas. It said the submarines were from the Ghadir class, of which Iran already has four.
This class of submarine can fire missiles and torpedoes and operate in the Gulf's shallow waters.
The move is seen as part of Iran's effort to upgrade its defense capabilities amid escalating tension over its nuclear program. The West suspects Iran is aiming at developing nuclear weapons, a charge Iran denies.
